Every once in a while you come across an organic eating option and this cafe really shines through. I simply loved the idea and had an eextensive choice of smoothies to try it out.
The photos on the wall were quite a conversation starter from a monastery in Bhutan to the lakes of Vietnam. I loved the blue haven smoothie and the vegan kimchi with my sandwich and salad.
The herb spiced hummus was scrumptious too.
Might I say I would be a regular, If only they open an outpost in bay area.
Vegans and vegetarians are bound to go nuts here:)
This has become my main market for food and toiletries. I can not say enough good about this place. They have an extensive selection of bulk dry goods, spices, produce, condiments, tea and really everything. I love their vitamins and shampoos, too. Their produce is especially fresh. I love that the products they carry are wholesome and generally organic. The prices are VERY reasonable, too.
I really can't believe how much they fit within a relatively small space. When I walk in, I feel as if space and time have flexed in a quantum convolution so that the store's inside is much larger than one would think possible from the outside.
I travel to Morro Bay as a regular detox vacation destination, but as a vegan I've been forced to eat pizza with no cheese or whatever I can scrounge at grocery stores (and lots of french fries). Since Shine Café opened, however, life is much better. The jackfruit carnita tacos are easily in the top three tacos I've eaten in my entire life, pre or post vegan. Culinary wizardry. The ruben is good as are the smoothies and "Pack a Bowl" bowl and burrito options. It's a bit warm inside but has a patio with amazing Morro breezes. The food comes a bit slowly, but I am endlessly entertained by the hippy crowd coming in and out, so it's quality people watching. Great food, great vibe, super healthy. A must for any diet.
